Welcome to John F. Kennedy Elementary School and the start of another exciting school year. I am thrilled and eagerly looking forward to working with the JFK community for an eighth consecutive year.
Education is a partnership that involves you, your children and our school team. Our caring and supporting team is committed to providing the best academic program for your child in a safe and fun learning environment. Our school counts on you, as parents, to instill in your child, the value of education. Some of the best ways to do this are by making sure that your child arrives at school on time and ready to learn, helping your child with homework and showing interest in your child’s school experience.
It is essential for you to verify your child’s agenda or communication folder, on a daily basis. By doing so, you will know what is going on in your child’s classroom and at your child’s school. Feel free to communicate with your child’s teacher using the agenda or communication folder. I also strongly encourage you to read to and with your child, regardless of the age or grade level, as this is one of the best ways to foster the love of reading while building upon many important skills.
John F. Kennedy is your school. I want you to feel that you are welcome and that you are a very important part of this learning community. Please feel free to come and see me or to call me if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions. Together we can continue to make John F. Kennedy Elementary School a wonderful place to learn.
I look forward to this new year together and I hope it will be filled with many special and memorable experiences. I hope to see you on Thursday, September the 8th, 2016 for the parent assembly and “Meet the Teacher” evening,
